Pakistan tells Britain to withdraw military trainers

Islamabad - Pakistan confirmed on Monday that it had requested that Britain pull out a team of military trainers sent to train the country's paramilitary troops.
Pakistani military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said that the 18 trainers were asked to leave the country due to «security concerns.» He refused to explain further.
Earlier, the Guardian newspaper cited the British Ministry of Defense saying that the withdrawn 18 military advisors were deployed in southern province of Baluchistan to train paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC).
The FC spearheads operations against al-Qaeda and Taliban in north-western Pakistan.
The move came after a raid by US special forces that killed Osama bin Laden in the north-western city of Abbottabad on May 2. The incident strained relations between Pakistan and its western allies in the fight against terrorism.
The United States have already pulled out more than 100 military trainers from Pakistan in the wake of the raid.
